Hua Hin HarlequinsTouch Rugby

The club

Our club, our people

A welcoming, properly-run touch rugby club in Hua Hin — weekly training, weekly games, and tournaments around Thailand.

How it started

Over a cold beer

Like most good ideas in Hua Hin, this one started over a cold beer. At Fiji Bula Sports Bar, owner Kordy kept circling a simple thought: get outside, get a bit fitter, build something that lasts. He brought it to John Williams and his wife Naoko, a post went up on the Hua Hin Expats page — and the response was bigger than anyone expected.

Saturday sessions became the heart of it: all ages, beginners and experienced heads, a run and a swim in the sea afterwards. Kordy moved away in 2020; the group carried on and kept growing. Eventually the team started travelling — Chiang Mai in 2025, then Bangkok in early 2026, where the mixed squad had its best showing yet.

Everyone can play — including children and ladies. That's what makes it fun. That's what makes it last.

What we are now

Members chip in 100 THB a week toward pitch costs. Kit and merch sell to members at fair prices, and profits go back into the club fund. Sponsors cover what membership doesn't — kit production, tournament fees, merch. None of it is charity; it's a club, run like one.

Committee

Who runs it

A volunteer committee across five areas keeps the club moving week to week and plans the tournament calendar:

  • President
  • Finance
  • Membership
  • Marketing

Code of conduct

How we play

  1. 01

    Respect everyone

Teammates, opponents, refs and spectators — courtesy and respect. No discrimination, harassment or bullying.

  2. 02

    Play fair

Follow the rules, good sportsmanship win or lose, no reckless play.

  3. 03

    Stay positive

Encourage your teammates. Celebrate effort as much as skill.

  4. 04

    Take responsibility

Turn up on time and ready; let organisers know if you can't make it; help set up and pack down.

  5. 05

    Look after each other

Safety first. Report injuries or unsafe behaviour. Don't play under the influence.

  6. 06

    Respect the space

Treat the fields with care and leave the area clean.

  7. 07

    Be a good ambassador

Represent the club well and help build a fun, inclusive culture.
