D3 makes a one-hand touch on M1 at the fixed 18m mark. M1 places the ball, then continues straight and right. The defence is now offside and begins retreating seven metres.
M2 picks up in the middle. L1 is available on the left and M1 has continued forward-right, giving M2 a clear pass option on either side while the defence retreats.
M2 carries at the decision point with L1 available on the left and M1 available on the right. The storyboard follows the left option first. Defenders who have reached seven metres may advance; any defender still short must keep retreating. D3 calls BALL and leads the line.
M2 passes backward to adjacent L1 on the left, then follows behind L1 to take the next scoop. M1 stays in the right channel as the next runner; nobody crosses through another player's lane.
L1 and D3 meet at Touch 2. M2 is tracking immediately behind L1 to become half, while M1 remains the next runner on the right.
L1 has rolled on the 23m touch mark and continues forward-left beyond the pass. M2 has already picked up while the defence is still retreating; M1 is immediately to the right as the next runner.
M2 is already carrying and begins moving diagonally toward M1 on the right. L1 continues forward-left beyond the ball path while onside defenders turn and advance.
M2 passes backward to adjacent M1 on the right and keeps tracking behind him. M1 receives moving straight while M2 continues forward-right toward the next touch as the following half.
M1 and D4 meet at Touch 3. M2 has kept running behind M1 and is arriving at the rollball ready to become dummy half. L1 remains available on the left as the next runner. This is the review boundary.
